전력기자재 수요 증가 속 전력·통신 케이블시장 뜨겁다

□ 시장 개요·

ㅇ 쿠웨이트 정부는 신규 발전소 건립, 노후 변전소 개체, 노후 송배전시설 교체 등 신규 프로젝트 적극 추진 중

- 한 여름 성수기에 심각한 전력부족 문제를 겪는 쿠웨이트 정부는 5개년 경제개발계획 중 전력 생산능력 제고에 집중 투자 예정

ㅇ 전력시설 개보수 등으로 전력 케이블 등 케이블시장의 수요가 지속 증가하고 있어 우리 기업의 진출 전망 밝아

- 전력용 케이블 수요 증가로 우리 나라 전력케이블 수출기회도 높아지고, 노후통신 설비교체로 인한 통신케이블 수요도 증가 추세

ㅇ 쿠웨이트, 자국 내 케이블 생산업체 유일하게 1개 사 존재해 대부분의 전력·통신 케이블은 수입에 의존

- 현지 제조기업에 입찰 우선권 부여 등으로 로컬 메이커의 시장점유율이 높아지지만 수입제품이 여전히 시장을 주도

□ 전력 케이블시장, 5년간 급성장 예상

ㅇ 5개년 경제개발계획(2010-14) 기간에 쿠웨이트 정부는 전력분야에 KD 2억5300만 투자 예정

- 신규 발전소 건설, 기존 발전소 성능 향상, 노후전선 교체, 송변전시설 개량 등에 예산 집중 투자 예정
